We all have that one favorite piece of clothing that we adore with all our hearts. We wear them all the time – whether it is a casual day out with our friends or a hectic day at work. Ergo, you might as well agree that some clothes are irreplaceable, and you just cannot find something like them anywhere. All the reasons why you wouldn’t like them to become old, ragged, and worn out with time.
However, everything has to go through the test of time – even clothes. You have to make them last for them to stay the same.
But how would you do that? Well, sit back, and let me do the talking.
10 ways to make your clothes last longer
1. Invest in high-quality clothes
It’s a no-brainer that cheap quality clothing wouldn’t stay until a few wears. Thus, invest in good quality clothing that will last longer. (Would you skip fast fashion already?)
Some signs to recognize top-quality clothing.
No see-through material
No loose stitching and no threads pulling out.
Well-working zippers and seals, and well-fitted buttons.
Well-stitched lining.
Material and pattern matching at the seams.
Fabric – Silk, Nylon and leather can be high-quality. On the other hand, sheer fabrics are not.
2. Don’t wear the same clothes frequently, keep on rotating
The rule doesn’t change – A garment becomes less durable with every wear. Thus, the least you can do is not wear a fine piece of clothing – or your favorite one frequently. Switch around. Don’t wear the same garment more than once a week.
3. Separate your home clothes and outings clothes
Let me give you one more reason to be in your most comfy pajamas, and loose t-shirts while you are home – to protect the clothes you wear outside. Ergo, make a rule for yourself – Every time you come back home, change into a different set of clothing.
Why? It’s simple. The more you wear it, the less they will last.
4. Store your clothing properly and with care
For in-season clothes, the rule is simple – Keep them properly, as in washed, and neatly folded or hung.
As for off-season clothes – meaning those you would not wear for months, keep them properly in a cabinet or under your bed drawers. You can even use breathable garment bags or plastic storage containers for storage.
Also, do make sure the clothes are dry and cleaned (don’t go by the look of them, they might look clean but they can still be unwashed, dirty, and full of odor)
5. Hand wash, and avoid dryers
Washing machines and dryers may make your lives easy but they may affect the life of your clothes for the worst. Thus, for a delicate piece of clothing, always go for hand washing and line drying.
While you are at it, do not forget to check the washing instructions on the label of your clothes. Follow them strictly. If you can’t allow to hand wash and air dry, make sure to use the most gentle cycle on the dryer for your laundry to avoid any damage.
6. Don’t over wash your clothes
You might like your clothes washed up and clean. You might as well think that by frequent washing, you are keeping the clothes clean to increase their life. But you are doing the opposite.
In fact, the more frequently you wash your clothes, the shorter their lives will be. Don’t wash clothes after every wear (some types are exceptions). Stick by this guide.
Underwear, socks, under-shirts – After every wear
Bras – After 3-4 wear
Shirts and tops: After 1-2 wears
Dress pants After 2-3 wears
Jeans: After 4-5 wears
Sweaters: Up to 6 wears, if worn with an undershirt; 1-2 wears without it
Suits/blazers/casual jackets: After 5-6 wears
Workout clothes: After every wear
Sleepwear: After 2-3 wears
Bed-sheets: Once a week
Towels: After three uses
7. Attend to stains immediately
The longer you allow the stains to sit in, the deeper they set and dry. Consequently, it will become harder for you to remove them. Thus, immediately wipe them out. If you are somewhere out find a wet napkin, or even better if you carry a stain-remover pen with you.
8. Use cold water
Too much hot water is damaging for your skin, hair, and clothing as well. I know you would be surprised, but it’s true. Your clothes would stay fine, and won’t shrink when using cold water in washing machines.
9. Attend to seams. pulls and holes immediately
If you keep wearing clothes with holes, or threads coming out, you will make them worse. Thus, attend to them at the earliest. Learning how to sew and repair clothes can be a blessing for you in this regard.
10. Take care of the clothes in the closet
I know you thought your job was done when you washed, ironed, and folded your clothes neatly before putting them properly in your closet. But no, something minute is still left – what the title is about.
So, here are a few tips for that.
Keep your closet doors open; at least once or twice a week for good air circulation.
Ensure that your closet is not stacked, and the clothes have space to breathe freely.
The closet and clothes are both dry.
Now that you know how to make your clothes last longer, you can wear your favorites with no worries! And if you absolutely love something and want to wear it more than once a week, purchase it in multiples. In case you have some additional tips regarding the same content, feel free to drop them in the comment section.
Longing for a road trip through the desert? If you’re planning a getaway to the Southwest, the best way to get to know the region is by checking out some of the most enthralling sites in the area, and many of those happen to be set in both Utah and Arizona.
Planning a road trip across the desert can be quite overwhelming because of the huge number of possibilities, but don’t worry, here’s the perfect Utah & Arizona itinerary created with first-timers in mind.
From Bryce Canyon’s unique hoodoos to the amazing vistas of Canyonlands National Park, here’s the perfect Utah & Arizona road trip even for those who don’t have much time!
The Ultimate Arizona & Utah Roadtrip Itinerary for Desert Lovers
Day 1: Zion National Park
Begin the day as early as possible by driving to Zion National Park to embark on the road trip of a lifetime.
Once there, get acquainted with the area by visiting the Zion Human History Museum, where you’ll learn about the indigenous Paiute who once inhabited the place. Some of the most famous rock formations of Zion are located right outside the museum (including Watchman and the Towers of the Virgin), so you’ll get to free two birds with one key!
Next, put on your hiking shoes and start exploring the park on foot. Many trails here are short, gentle, and very alluring, so you can cross off several hikes off your list in a few hours.
If you’ve still got some energy after hiking, hop on your car and drive to Kolob Canyon, the lesser-visited part of the park and the ideal place to catch a sunset. For the ultimate spot to watch the sun go down, hike Timber Creek Overlook at Kolob View Point, where you’ll get to admire 360-degree views of the nearby rock formations and even some glimpses of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon!
Days 2 and 3: Bryce Canyon National Park
Because it is one of the smallest national parks in the USA, one day and a half is more than enough to catch the highlights of Bryce Canyon National Park. Do start your first day as early as possible to get the most out of it.
Red rock hoodoos are the stars of Bryce Canyon, so start the day by packing a lunch and driving along the park’s scenic road (Highway 12). During the drive, stop by at some of the park’s most scenic overlooks to get a wildly picturesque introduction to some of the best vistas at Bryce Canyon.
Come afternoon, pick one of the many short hiking trails if you’re in the mood to get to know the park a little better. For an epic sunset, head to Sunset Point, where you’ll get to see the sun go down while overlooking the striking amphitheater of red rock hoodoos!
Day 3 will be all about getting closer and more personal with Bryce Canyon. As mentioned before, hoodoos are what make Bryce Canyon’s landscape so unique, and there’s really no better way to admire them than braving the Queen’s Garden to Navajo Loop and Wall Street trail. As you make your way through otherworldly-looking rocky tunnels and pine forests, you’ll get access to the best views of the park’s iconic sandstone hoodoos that will make you feel as though you’re walking on another planet!
In the evening, leave Bryce Canyon and drive to Capitol Reef to get a good night’s sleep and prepare for another full day of desert goodness.
Day 4: Capitol Reef National Park
Get the most out of your visit to Capitol Reef National Park by hiking to Hickman Bridge, a classic, 2-mile round trip trail that will have you stumbling across some of the most iconic sights in the park. When you’re done hiking, hop back in your car and drive down Highway 24 to check out the park’s famous petroglyph panel, which will give you a good insight into the Capitol Reef’s indigenous heritage.
Next, drive along the 8-mile long scenic road, where you’ll get to check out some of the most iconic sights of Capitol Reef. If you’ve still got time and energy after the drive, try the hike to Cassidy Arch, one of the most thrilling trails and probably the most iconic photo spot in the whole park!
Day 5: Arches National Park
Although it is very small, Arches National Park isn’t short of incredible things to see and do, so get ready for another day of desert adventures!
Start the day by checking out Delicate Arch, which is undoubtedly the most iconic sight in Utah (actually, it’s the arch you see on Utah’s license plates!). Next, get ready for some desert hiking by following the Landscape Arch trail, the largest natural arch in the USA and an absolute must.
When you’re through exploring on foot, jump on your car and drive down the Arches Scenic Drive, which offers a variety of incredible viewpoints where you can revel in the sweeping desert views.
For a stunning sunset, hike the Double Arch trail to check out yet another arch before finishing at The Windows to say goodbye to another amazing day in your road trip!
Days 6 & 7: Canyonlands National Park (Island in the Sky and The Needles)
Canyonlands National Park is so huge that you could keep going back and never get to do the same thing twice. For first-timers, though, the best way to go about it is taking off at the easier-to-explore Island in the Sky section of the park to get to see some of the most famous landmarks of the park.
Rise and shine early and hike up to the iconic Mesa Arch, where you’ll get to witness one of the most stunning sunrises of your life. Then, you can take on a few of the hikes (recommended ones are Gooseberry Canyon, Grand View Point Trail, and Upheaval Dome).
To top off your day, head over to Green River Viewpoint to catch an epic sunset with sweeping views of the canyons, with the sun illuminating the canyon walls and making the hues of red on the rocks jump to life.
The next day, you can either explore more of Island in the Sky or venture deeper into Canyonlands by hitting The Needles, which offers extensive vistas of the canyons and off-the-road, more challenging hikes, and backpacking opportunities.
Day 8 & 9: Grand Canyon National Park
Cap off an unforgettable desert road trip by challenging your desert hiking skills on the Bright Angel Trail, a 9.5 mile-long trail that stretches from the rim of the Grand Canyon all the way down to the Colorado River at the bottom. The trail itself begins close to Bright Angel Lodge and ends at Phantom Ranch, which is the only place other than camping where you can sleep inside the canyon before heading out to the trailhead in the morning.
I hope this itinerary helped you plan the perfect Arizona + Utah road trip! Even though both states are king when it comes to incredible sights and nature, these destinations are the perfect stops to make if it’s your first time traveling through the area to get a pretty good introduction to the best of the desert in both states!
Do you only have a week for a Southwest road trip? Worry not! Even though the Southwest is enormous and has tons of amazing sights and things to do, a week is enough to get a pretty good feel of some of the best that it offers if you’re able to maximize your time and don’t mind a bit of a challenge. If you’re currently struggling to put together a perfect one-week itinerary through the Southwest, here’s the ultimate one-week itinerary that will get you in touch with the enchanting Southwest of the USA, taking you from the Mars-like landscapes of Arches and Canyonlands in Utah to the historical jewel of Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado.
The Ultimate One-Week Itinerary through the Southwest USA
Day 1 and Day 2: Moab
Stunning red rock formations that look like they belong on Mars, gorgeous canyons with sweeping vistas, and sandstone spires that pierce the skies are only a few of the highlights this enchanting region of Utah has to offer. Although a whole week can be devoted to visiting the Moab region, the main sights can be seen in two days in both Canyonlands National Park and Arches National.
Begin your road trip by checking out the iconic Delicate Arch, one of the most famous landmarks in the state (so much that it’s depicted on their license plates!). Next, get a pretty good feel of what hiking in the desert is like by doing the Landscape Arch trail, which leads to the largest natural arch in the USA.
Hop back in your car and drive down the Arches Scenic Ride, which will have you taking some of the best viewpoints in the park in no time. Put your trail shoes back on and prepare for an epic sunset by hiking the Double Arch trail and finishing at the Windows, where you can find a cozy spot to watch the sun go down and think back on the first day of your road trip!
Day 2 will be about visiting the main highlights of the Island in the Sky district at Canyonlands. Even though Canyonlands is huge, one day is enough to see some of the best it has to offer if you focus your attention on this district. The reason for that is that it boasts the most iconic sights at the park while also offering relatively short and easy trails, which means you can cover a ton in just a few hours.
To start an unforgettable day, set an early alarm and hike up to the emblematic Mesa Arch for an epic sunrise you won’t soon forget.
Afterward, pick a few hiking trails to follow (don’t worry, Island in the Sky’s trails are pretty short and gentle). A few must-do hikes include the Delicate Arch trail as well as the Landscape Arch trail, where you’ll get to see the longest natural arch in the United States.
For a stunning sunset with sweeping views of the canyons, you can head to Green River Viewpoint, where the sun shines over the walls of the canyons and makes the rocks come alive with color.
Day 3: Mesa Verde National Park
The third day is about driving to Colorado to visit one of the most intricate areas of the Southwest! Nestled deep in the cliffs, ruins of complex structures and dwellings built way back by ancestral Puebloans are today open to visitors.
Nobody quite knows why this ancestral society collapsed, but you’re welcome to come up with a theory or two while walking through the site!
Days 4 and 5: Grand Canyon National Park
No Southwest itinerary would be complete without a visit to Grand Canyon National Park.
Day Four will be for driving your way from Mesa Verde to Grand Canyon (5-6 hours), so take things slowly today. You should have enough time to drive a section of the viewpoints and might even be able to fit in a short hike below the rim. A top one here is the trail that leads to Ooh Aah Point, which is only a 1.8-mile round trip and provides sweeping vistas of the canyon.
On day 5, you can challenge your desert hiking skills by braving the Bright Angel Trail, a 9.5-mile hike that will have you going past some of the most alluring views of the Grand Canyon. Although doing the complete hike out and back in a day is not recommended, there are many milestones where you can turn around and get back to the trailhead. It’s completely up to you and your skill level when to get back. As a tip, bring plenty of water (that means more than you think you’ll need).
Day 6: Zion National Park
Another day spent hiking in the desert in search of awe-inspiring views? Yes, please!
Before taking on the trails, be sure to visit the Zion Human History Museum, where you’ll learn about the indigenous Pauite people who once inhabited the region. Once you’re acquainted with Zion’s past, set off to conquer a few more desert trails. A lot of the trails in Zion are short, relatively easy, and absolutely stunning, so you can do several of them in just a few hours.
A few of the must to hikes include Emerald Pools, Canyon Overlook (perfect for families), and The Narrows, which will take you through canyon walls and wading through the river. Note that The Narrows hike is 16-miles long and not exactly doable in just a day, but you can turn back any time in order to maximize your time at Zion!
Next up, drive to Kolob Canyon, which is the less visited part of Zion. Park your car and hike Timber Creek Overlook at Kolob View Point, where you’ll get a 360-degree vista of the landscape (on clear days, you might even catch glimpses of the Grand Canyon’s North Rim!)
Day 7: Valley of Fire State Park
Finish an action-packed itinerary with a visit to Valley of Fire State Park, a place that will transport you into a world of epic red Aztec sandstone outcrops, petrified trees, ancient petroglyphs, and landscapes colored in all shades of red, orange, and pink.
While at Fire State, gear up for another day of hiking in search of out-of-this-planet landscapes. Two must-do hikes are Fire of Wave and Rainbow Vista trails, both of which are relatively easy to follow and provide some of the most incredible views in the park.
If you prefer to relax on your last day, though, you can opt to explore Valley of Fire from the comfort of your car by taking Mouse’s Tank Road, which will have you going past some of the most breath-taking viewpoints you can calmly gaze at while bidding goodbye to the desert!
I hope this itinerary helped you plan a perfect one-week in the Southwest! Even though there’s a humongous array of incredible things to do in this part of the United States, these 4 destinations are a great place to get started exploring the best it has to offer.
Have you ever visited the Southwest? What are some other incredible places everyone’s got to visit at least once in their life? Let me know all about them in the comment section below!
Motivation is not something that can be constant, it will drop, but who says you cannot get it back? One way is to depend on people for it. I mean, a few words of wisdom and motivation to the ears can make you do wonders.
But let’s just drop the bomb you’re hiding away from – people are not always going to be around to motivate you – even if you are popular. I mean, imagine losing motivation to write an extra assignment at 3 a.m., you wouldn’t call up a friend for some words of motivation.
You have to be independent, you have to be your own motivator, not just for a moment but for every moment you feel that you don’t have the motivation or the strength to keep doing what you should. Your reason for doing what you are doing has to be bigger than the obstacle ahead.
Having said that, here are some tips you can use to become your biggest motivator
How to be your own biggest motivator
1. Create your vision board or a motivation folder
When it comes to refueling motivation, a vision board and motivation folder can be a god-sent. Consider a vision board as a board that reminds you of your goals and motivates you into doing something you planned. It can contain pictures, texts, and some words of motivation to yourself. You might have it as your wallpaper, or at your workstation. (Work station is the best if you ask me)
While at the same time, a motivation folder, as the name suggests, contains everything that can motivate you. It can be pictures, posters, words of motivation, and even your achievements (certificates, letter of recommendation, etc.)
2. Practice affirmations
Don’t consider affirmations as just phrases you say for the sake of saying. Consider them a powerful tool to remind yourself of your goals and what you are capable of.
Thus, every time you feel your motivation fuel dropping, remind yourself of your targets, the life you want to live, the growth you want for yourself by reciting affirmations.
Here are some motivational affirmations that can help.
I am the architect of my life; I build its foundation and choose its contents. The choice I make today matters.
My ambition allows me to achieve my goals. I have a fire inside that’s pushing me forward. I’ve got what it takes.
If there’s no reason why I can’t do it, I must do it right now.
I always write affirmations on sticky notes and mirrors to remind myself in places and times where I may not otherwise think to have positive thoughts. I do bathroom mirrors, office mirrors, sticky notes on my closet and computer and in my wallet.
3. Read and watch motivational books and movies
There’s no better motivator than books and movies. If you are into reading, take any autobiography of the personality who inspires you. If you are into movies and are looking for recommendations – Remember the Titans, The Pursuit of Happiness, and It’s a Wonderful Life
4. Don’t overthink, just do it
Perhaps the only reason why you are feeling unmotivated is that you’re thinking too much. Trust me when it comes to it, our mind can be our foe sometimes. It only makes you think about things you shouldn’t do. So, if you happen to get such thoughts a lot,
“What if I fail”
“Perhaps I’m not cut out for it”
“I cannot do it”
It’s only your mind fooling you. You are better than, and you have to take matters in your command. You can do that by focusing on actions. If you find yourself thinking too much, just stop, AND GET TO ACTION. Sometimes, you just have to take the first step, following which things get easier.
5. Reflect on your past achievements
There will be moments when you’ll doubt yourself a lot. We all go through it – especially in the face of failures or when we’re starting a fresh chapter. This is when you have to remind yourself that you are capable. For that, recollecting your past achievements can work wonders.
Whether it is a trophy, medal, or even a compliment, use it as a reminder that you can do it.
6. Give yourself a break if necessary
It’s not impossible that the only reason you are lacking motivation is that you are pushing yourself too hard. For instance, if you exercise 7 days a week, you will get tired, and eventually, lose all the motivation of working out. So, give yourself a break.
Ask yourself, if you are working more than needed? If that’s a yes, then all you need to do to get that motivation back is a break. Take your time, go out for a walk, hang out with friends, or do something you like. Your mind needs rest to gain the stamina (in this case, motivation), give it that.
7. Write letters to yourself
You might have seen people writing letters, or shooting videos for their future selves. You can do something similar – write a letter to motivate yourself. Now, this might not be a letter for your future self, but that unmotivated, tired, version of you. Reading this letter can fill you up with motivation like nothing else.
So, to write one such letter, imagine, what would you like to tell a friend when they are feeling down and unmotivated? You have to tell the same thing to yourself.
Hopefully, you can bring your own sparkle and motivation, but if that doesn’t work, writing letters and sticky notes, saying affirmations, giving yourself a break, finding inspiration from books, movies and previous achievements can help you get where you need to be. If all else fails, I’m here to help as well, just reach out and we as a community can help support you!
We all know that being socially healthy is important, but it can be tough to figure out exactly how to do it. It seems like every day there is a new study about the best way to make friends or the healthiest way to interact with others.
Contrary to popular belief, social wellness is not simply about being extroverted or having a lot of friends. It is also about the quality of your relationships and how you express yourself. To maintain social wellness, it is important to be able to act interdependently with others and take part in the communities you are a part of. developing positive social habits can go a long way in helping you build strong support systems. Research has shown that maintaining social wellness can impact your mental and physical health positively.
For example, one study found that socially active older adults were less likely to experience a decline in their physical functioning than those who were not socially active. Additionally, socially well individuals tend to have lower levels of anxiety and depression and report higher levels of satisfaction with their lives. That’s why we’ve put together this list of 10 ways to be socially healthy and happy!
10 Ways To Be Socially Healthy
1. Define social wellness
Social wellness can be defined as the state of being comfortable and confident when interacting with others. It involves actively listening to others, maintaining eye contact, and being aware of nonverbal cues. People who are socially well typically have strong relationships and can navigate difficult conversations. They also tend to be good at networking and building relationships. Social wellness is an important part of overall health, as it can impact mental and physical wellbeing. For example, social isolation has been linked to increases in stress and anxiety, while strong social ties have been shown to boost immunity and improve recovery from illness. Therefore, actively working to improve social wellness is a worthwhile goal for everyone.
2. Understand the benefits of social wellness
Few things in life are as important as our relationships with others. From our family and friends to our co-workers and neighbors, the people we interact with daily play a vital role in our overall well-being. That’s why it’s so important to make sure we are actively working to improve our social wellness. When we have strong, healthy relationships, we are more likely to feel supported and secure. We are also more likely to experience greater levels of happiness and satisfaction. On the other hand, when our relationships are unhealthy or nonexistent, we can feel isolated and alone. We may also be more likely to struggle with mental health issues such as anxiety and depression. Fortunately, there are many things we can do to improve our social wellness.
Some of the benefits of social wellness include:
-Improved mental health
-Greater life satisfaction
-Stronger immunity
-Faster recovery from illness
-Lower levels of stress and anxiety
Of course, these are just a few of the many benefits that come with being socially well.
3. Identify the different types of social interactions
Everyone knows that it’s important to be socially healthy and happy. But what does that mean? And how can you achieve it? To start with, it’s important to understand the different types of social interactions. Joining a group, for example, offers opportunities for both structured and unstructured interactions. Strong relationships with family members and friends are also important, as they provide support during difficult times. Furthermore, research has shown that social interaction can have positive effects on both mental and physical health. So if you’re looking for ways to be socially healthy and happy, start by identifying the different types of social interactions. It’s a great first step towards a more fulfilled life.
4. Evaluate your current social habits
Most people would agree that being socially healthy and happy is important for overall health and well-being. However, it can be difficult to know how to go about achieving this goal. One good place to start is by evaluating your current social habits. Do you generally prefer to be around people or to spend time alone? Do you find it easy to communicate with others? How much time do you spend on social media? Asking yourself these questions can help you to identify areas where you might need to make some changes.
For example, if you realize that you spend more time alone than you would like, you can make an effort to seek out social activities that interest you. Or, if you find that you have difficulty communicating with others, you might want to consider taking a class or joining a group.
Evaluating your current social habits is a great way to get started on the path to social wellness. But it’s only one piece of the puzzle. To be truly socially healthy and happy, you also need to make an effort to connect with others.
5. Experiment with new ways to be socially active
Being socially healthy and happy doesn’t come naturally to everyone. In fact, for some people, it can be quite a challenge. However, there are many things that you can do to improve your social health and happiness. One of them is to experiment with new ways to be socially active. This could involve anything from joining a new club or group to attending a social event that is outside of your comfort zone. By trying new things, you may find that you enjoy activities that you never would have thought to try before. Additionally, you will also meet new people and make new friends, which can only enhance your social health and happiness. So don’t be afraid to experiment – you may be surprised at what you discover!
6. Find communities that align with your values
One of the best ways to be socially healthy and happy is to find communities that align with your values. When you’re around people who share your beliefs and ideals, you’ll naturally feel more comfortable and content. You’ll also have an easier time expressing yourself and connecting with others. In addition, being part of a community can provide a sense of belonging and purpose. If you’re looking for ways to be happier and healthier, start by finding communities that reflect your values.
7. Make time for yourself and your relationships
According to the National Institute of Mental Health, social relationships are important for our mental and emotional health. Humans are social animals and need contact with others to thrive. This is why it’s so important to make time for yourself and your relationships. By investing in our social lives, we can improve our mental and emotional well-being. Here are a few tips on how to do this:
Set aside time each day or week for leisure activities that you enjoy, such as reading, hiking, playing sports, or spending time with friends and family.
Join a club or group that reflects your interests, or volunteer for a cause you care about. This will help you meet new people and build positive relationships.
Make an effort to stay in touch with friends and family, even if you don’t live close by. Send a text, give them a call, or video chat on Skype or FaceTime.
By making time for yourself and your relationships, you can improve your social health and happiness. So don’t forget to schedule some “you” time.
8. Be present in your interactions
In today’s world, it’s easy to get caught up in our own lives and forget about the people around us. However, if we want to be socially healthy and happy, it’s important to be present in our interactions. This means being fully engaged with the person or people that you’re talking to. It means listening to what they’re saying and being interested in their lives. It also means being genuine in your interactions and showing your true self. If you can be present in your social interactions, you’ll likely find them more enjoyable and fulfilling.
9. Be generous with your time and energy
One of the best ways to be socially healthy and happy is to be generous with your time and energy. When you give of yourself to others, you’ll feel good about yourself and your contributions. Additionally, you’ll find that people are more likely to reciprocate when you’re generous. So if you want to improve your social health and happiness, start by being generous with your time and energy.
One way to be generous is by giving compliments. A simple “I like your shoes” or “You’re a really good listener” can make someone’s day. You can also show generosity by doing favors for others, such as running an errand or taking care of a task. Or you could simply give someone your time, by listening to them talk or spending time with them.
Generosity doesn’t have to be a big gesture – it can be anything that makes someone else’s life just a little bit better.
So go out and start being generous! You may be surprised at how good it makes you feel.
10. Practice random acts of kindness
Another way to be socially healthy and happy is to practice random acts of kindness. This could mean opening the door for someone, giving a compliment, or picking up litter. It doesn’t matter how big or small the act is – what matters is that it’s done with a sincere intention of making someone else’s life just a little bit better.
When you do something kind, you’ll likely feel good about yourself. Additionally, your act of kindness may inspire others to do the same. So go out and start spreading some kindness today!
Investing in our social lives is important for our mental and emotional health. There are many ways to do this, including setting aside time for leisure activities, joining clubs or groups, staying in touch with friends and family, being present in our interactions, being generous with our time and energy, and practicing random acts of kindness. By doing these things, we can improve our social health and happiness. So don’t forget to schedule some “you” time and start being kind today!
